it's 9 PM now in australia.. I'm currently having my holidays in AUS (hehe, at last~!)

It's been very stressful in school with so many things and i really needed a break from all of it.

CNY Spring 2009!!

Let's talk about the spring performance thingy..

Lessee, There was this performance be4 CNY in Spring.. 

I went there to perform and it was....

The afternoon session was hell lot of crap. I made a lot of mistakes when i blew my clarinet. LOL, it was like this.. Play play play SQUEAK, play play p

lay and then i forgot my notes.. So i had to improvise abit. Which pretty much ruined the song.

. And then alot of ppl memorized and Bryan and I were doing last-minute-prepared pieces. So ye

a, you get the idea..

It was really terrible.

I went to my gran's house which is like.. 20 metres away from spring feeling depressed and down..  I went to sleep soon afterwards..

At night was faar better than the afternoon.. Feeli

ng refreshed from my sleep. I managed to play one of my bests songs yet. Hey!! NO JOKE! And i was palying my signature song again.... I play that same song everywhere.. School concert la, trinity awards la, advant garde concert la, SMK s

My Form 3 KL trip

Well, this year the form 3's of Lodge National would probably be the last generation to visit KL.. How lucky we are.. We had 4 days to enjoy in KL, 4 days of fun, insanely late sleeps, emotional moments, 4 days to empty our pockets and 4 days to relieve ourselves from 9 months (well 4 months for me) of hard study and raw brain torture.. hooray.. =.="

The KL trip was indeed very memorable.. During the trip it brought out some of our most unimaginable other-selves.. Here are a few exclusive pictures of my friends who were not acting like themselves..
Here's one of them.. Zong Bao,He's usually a great friend but the wise smartass sometimes can annoy me really badly.

Man, i'm loeving my classmates.. Sad thing is.. We're all going to be split-up into different classes in form 4.. T^T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who i met today

Today was the day i finally get to hang out with friends.. For the first time this holiday.. Incredible huh.. Well, i went out with Bryan Yeo, Tracy Ho , and their friends Val and Sam...
I have to say.. The gang is unusual.. Firstly, Let's go over Bryan...






That is Bryan.. So girls.. Waddoyou think? Cute? I'm a guy so i don't know..
He's my Clarinet Pal and he's the one who invited me out.. He's a kind guy, pro piano player and is the person i consult when i have problems with my computer.. He's kinda horny too though, even though he doesn't look it nor sound like a perv.


Next off there's his friends Val and Samantha... I don't have pictures of them yet.. But if they add me on msn i might be able to get their DPs... Val, in my opinion, is very glum and depressing.. She makes Moaning Myrtle looks cheerful.. seriously, SERIOUSLY, it'll be ahrd for me to see her hitch up a smile.. but you never know.. Still, she can be quite nice sometimes when she tries.. Then there' s Sam.. Her voice is well, in my opinion, honey-voiced and she's nice yes.. But when i talk to her there's always ALWAYS awkward moments..


Then there's Tracy, she's in my msn so i managed to get 2 pictures.. XD

This is Tracy Ho. She's, well in my opinion quiet.. Quiet to me anyway, but on msn we can chat hell lot. Well, i think she's good-looking (trying to save my skin)..
Eerr, yea.. There's alot of nice things, like eer.. i think she's kind.. Dunno much lah, just met her. We performed Yue Lai Siang in the concert with Bryan and other clarinetists.. She was playing the keyboard.. Well, she's grade 5 now.. I obviously have nothing better to type.. So, till my next blog then. XP

How i came to play the clarinet..

Okay, continuing from my old post...

Anyway, i began playing the clarinet at theyoung age of 11...

It went like this...

One night my while i was playing my ps1...

My mum came into the room..


Mum: Hey Jordan, Wanna learn to play an instrument?

Me ( concentrating on playing Monkey Magic rather than the conversation) : Eer... okay.

Mum: Wanna try the clarinet..??

I paused the game

Jordan: COOL!!!!!!!!!! YEEAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

During that time i thought the clarinet was the name for the saxophone....








Okay...

After arrangements with Advant Garde, i went for my first lesson ( i bought the clarinet in my music academy)....


Upon looking at the clarinet



Me:................................... This is the CLARINET? Ah well... I'll try it then..


Still, up till now i have no regrets...
REASONS :

1)The sweet, mellow sound of the clarinet is really unique...
2) The clarinet is actually more challenging to paly than the saxophone..
3) You get abs from playing clarinet.. seriously..SERIOUSLY
4) Obviously, u have a better chance at getting girls..
5)Anyone can play a clarinet.. anything as well.. LOOK!!


Haha.. Lame.. I know..
Anyway, here's me playing in my concert..
When you play the clarinet you sorta get your body moving cuz it's just irresistible..

My clarinet....


If you guys don't know what a clarinet is.. This is how it looks like...>>>>






Let's go through the parts quickly...


Firstly there's the mouthpiece... Where you blow air into.. You'll need a REED becuz the hole is too big..Anyway, this is the mouthpiece..






Next there's the barrel....




This is where a lot of saliva accumulates, and i mean A LOT...
So when you disassemble a clarinet, i think this is the best place to start cleaning...


Anyway, then you'll have the upper joint..






Behind the upper joint you'll have only 1 key to press... That key is called the register key, and pressing it moves you up to a higher octave..



After this there's the lower joint ( i'm getting tired already...)
